Suryakumar Ashok Yadav is an Indian cricketer. He has been the Vice-captain of KKR in the Indian Premier League. He is an attacking right-handed batsman and occasional Right arm medium pace bowler. He plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and was a part of Mumbai Indians squad in the IPL from 2011 to 2013 and in January 2018 he was again bought by the Mumbai Indians for the VIVO IPL 2018. 

Yadav made his first-class debut against Arch Rivals Delhi in December 2010. He had an impressive Ranji season in 2011-12 with 754 runs at an average of 68.54 and the highest run-getter for Mumbai in that season. He was also the part of Mumbai Indians team in their victorious 2011 Champions League Twenty20 campaign. 

Impressed by his talent he received the IPL contract from the Mumbai Indians. After that, he was moved to Kolkata Knight Riders. He evolved as very useful lower down the order batsman for KKR. In fact, he played all the matches in IPL-7  for KKR due to his incredible Strike rate. He is an aggressive batsman and could be used as a hitter batsman for India International T20s. 

He also scored a double century against Orissa in his only third match of the Ranji Season.

Facts You Should Know About Suryakumar Yadav

In his first-class debut match, he throttled 73 runs from 89 balls with 15 boundaries in the first Innings. He scored 754 runs in 9 matches at an average of 68.54  in the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy season. 

He was honored by MA Chidambaram Trophy for the best Under-22 cricketer. In 2014 he was bought by KKR at the price of 70 lakhs.  

In high-pressure match situations he thinks that “what will I do after winning the game” as well as “what would an experienced player have done if he was in this situation.” 

He follows the footsteps of Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni in terms of calmness in a pressure situation.
