Mujeeb Ur Rahman is an Afghan cricketer. He was the first male to play international cricket who was born in the 21st century.
In the VIVO IPL 2018 auction, a 16-year-old Afghanistan made the news. He is a versatile spinner who bowls the off-break and also the leg break and googly kept two franchises interested. in the 2018 auction Kings XI, Punjab and Delhi Daredevils were involved in a intense bidding for Mujeeb Zadran. His base price was 50 lakhs but the bidding saw Rahman’s worth rise to 2 crores and beyond. When Kings XI Punjab raised it to rupee 3.60 crores the Delhi raised it to 3.80 crores but Punjab responded well for 4 crore biding. So finally he got the IPL contract of 4 crores by Kings XI Punjab.
He can bowl traditional off-spin and mix it up with leg spin and be ripping googlies to make him a complete package. Mujeeb wants to follow the footsteps of Rashid Khan. He is senior by two years.
Mujeeb continued to enhance his reputation on the global stage by starring in Afghanistan’s historic triumph at the Under-19 Asia cup where they beat Pakistan in the final with him claiming a five-wicket haul.
At the Under-19 world cup, his four-wicket haul helped Afghanistan beat New Zealand to secure a semi-final berth. After two days he was picked up by Kings XI Punjab INR 4 crore for VIVO IPL 2018.
