Shreyas Iyer is an Indian cricketer. He plays for Mumbai Cricket team and plays one day international, T20 Internationals for Indian cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off break bowler. He played for the India Under-19 cricket team at the 2014 ICC Under-19 cricket world cup. he also represented Trent Bridge Cricket team in England During the 2014 season. He plays for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.
His parents are born and bought up in Mumbai. Iyer was spotted by coach Pravin Amre at the age of 12 on Shivaji Park Gymkhana. He trained him in his early days. In his young age, his teammates used to compare Iyer with Virendra Sehwag. He studied at Poddar college in Mumbai where he helped his college team to lift some Trophies.
Nowadays he is considered as one of the next generation stars of Indian batting. His name is well known in the domestic circuit. He strikes at an excellent rate with such amazing consistency is laudable. He is a stylish batsman as he became the top run-scorer of the 2015-16 season with a whopping 1321 runs to his name at an incredible average of 73.78. this made a statement in the world of Indian cricket.
A double century against visiting Australians in a practice game in 2017 put him in the top and he was eventually picked up in the squad for the final test of the Australia series when skipper Virat Kohli got injured.
Definitely, he is an aggressive player and takes the game away from the opposition single-handed but he needs to be more consistent in the shorter formats.

Iyer has a short film made on him on his junior age group cricket journey. The film is titled ‘Shreyas Iyer Documentary- A Father’s Dream’ which is directed by cricket writer Aayush Puthran.
He also played for Trent Bridge Cricket team in the UK in 2014. He scored 297 runs at an average of 99 in three matches.
He made an impressive Ranji Debut by making 809 runs at an average of 50.5 in 2014-15 with 2 centuries and 6 fifties.
